Role:
Staycity Group is seeking an experienced Principal Full Stack Engineer to join our team in Dublin Head Office, responsible for designing, building and evolving the systems that power our booking engine, online check-in and guest experience platforms, while also driving automation across the wider Staycity IT ecosystem. These platforms currently process approximately €60M in annual bookings, with strong growth expected over the coming years.

This role is focused on end to end ownership, scalability and continuous improvement of both customer facing and internal systems within a high growth hospitality environment. The successful candidate will operate across frontend applications, backend services and cloud infrastructure, ensuring robust, secure and high performing solutions that support both guest journeys and operational efficiency.

The position involves working within an Azure hosted ecosystem, contributing to modern .NET services and React applications, while leading architectural direction and engineering standards. This is a hands on principal level role requiring independent delivery of large, complex initiatives from concept through to production, alongside mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence across the team.

What you can do for us:

• Design and deliver end to end solutions across frontend, backend and Azure cloud infrastructure for business critical platforms
• Own and drive large scale, complex initiatives independently from concept through to production
• Build and evolve backend services supporting booking, availability, payment and automation workflows
• Lead architectural decisions and shape the long term technical direction of our platforms
• Develop high quality, scalable and well tested code across the full stack
• Leverage AI assisted development tools and orchestrate AI driven workflows to accelerate delivery and improve quality
• Establish and promote engineering best practices, standards and patterns across the team
• Ensure system performance, reliability and observability through proactive monitoring and optimisation
• Collaborate with cross functional stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions
• Mentor and support engineers, contributing to team growth and a culture of engineering excellence

We would love you to have:

• Extensive experience with C# and modern .NET in full stack environments
• Proven track record delivering and operating large scale production systems on Azure or similar cloud platforms
• Strong experience with React or similar frameworks, with solid understanding of modern frontend development practices
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, API design and third party integrations
• Strong experience with SQL Server and data modelling in high volume environments
• Experience working with payment systems or financial transaction processing
• Demonstrated leadership in architectural design and technical decision making
• Experience working in agile environments with CI and CD pipelines
• Strong problem solving skills with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges independently
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both technical and non technical stakeholders

Nice to have

• Experience with payment gateway integrations such as Stripe
• Familiarity with Azure Functions, CosmosDB or other cloud native technologies
• Experience leveraging AI assisted development tools to optimise engineering workflows
• Exposure to e commerce or B2C platforms at scale
• Background in hospitality systems or internationalised, multi currency platforms
