The role:
As a Senior Energy Engineer within our rapidly growing ESG team, you will take a leadership role in shaping and delivering Staycity’s energy strategy across our portfolio in the UK, Ireland, and mainland Europe. You will be responsible for driving high-impact energy initiatives, optimising building performance, and supporting the integration of innovative technologies across both existing and new developments.
This is a strategic and hands-on position, combining technical expertise with project leadership and stakeholder management. You will oversee complex energy programmes, provide expert guidance across the business, and play a key role in embedding a strong culture of energy efficiency and sustainability. Regular travel across the estate will be required.

We would love you to have:
5+ years’ experience in energy management, with a strong focus on building services, controls, and operational performance
Strong technical expertise in domestic hot water systems, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning
Advanced experience with Building Management Systems, including controls strategy, hardware, and software integration
Extensive knowledge of current energy design standards, operational technologies, and industry best practices
Strong understanding of building and energy regulations and compliance requirements
Working knowledge of carbon management and carbon accounting methodologies
Proven experience in managing projects and working with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment
Strong communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English
A proactive, solutions-driven mindset with the ability to lead initiatives and influence stakeholders
Solid practical experience within building services and operational maintenance environments
What you can do for us:
Lead the identification, development, and delivery of energy efficiency opportunities across the estate
Oversee the monitoring and in-depth analysis of energy consumption data to drive performance improvements and inform strategic decisions
Provide technical leadership on building services systems, including domestic hot water, HVAC, and power systems optimisation
Manage and deliver energy upgrade projects such as solar PV, heat pumps, battery storage, and other low-carbon technologies
Act as the key point of contact for internal stakeholders, including operational teams and Energy Working Groups, to drive accountability and results
Manage relationships with external consultants and contractors, ensuring projects are scoped, delivered, and commissioned to a high standard
Lead the development and continuous improvement of energy management procedures, standards, and best practices
Produce and present detailed energy performance reports at estate, building, and system level to senior stakeholders
Drive optimisation and innovation within Building Management Systems, improving controls, integration, and overall building performance
Support carbon management initiatives, including tracking, reporting, and reduction strategies aligned with ESG targets
