We would love you to have:
Previous relevant experience and up to date knowledge of country/property specific maintenance, safety, and health regulations in a similar environment or property/hotel (2+ years minimum is required)
What you can do for us:
Undertake painting and decorating works throughout guest apartments, corridors and public areas, ensuring a consistently high standard of presentation and finish.
Support and carry out flooring replacement projects, including the removal of existing flooring, preparation of surfaces and installation of new flooring.
Assist with wooden flooring restoration projects, including sanding, preparation, oiling and finishing to maintain and enhance the appearance of the property.
Take a proactive approach to identifying areas requiring refurbishment, repairs or decorative improvements, helping to maintain the property's premium standards.
Plan and complete small refurbishment and improvement projects alongside routine maintenance duties, with a focus on quality, efficiency and minimising disruption to guests.
Full training and guidance will be provided for specialist tasks, including flooring installation, sanding and restoration. Previous experience is beneficial but not essential, provided the candidate is willing to learn and develop new skills.
Work with the Chief Engineer and Maintenance team to manage department resources and optimises the team’s work by drawing up and coordinating schedules according to need. Assist the Chief Engineer with managing the team, leading with kindness and respect.
Supporting planned maintenance checks and take a hands-on approach to reactive maintenance.
Deliver daily, weekly and monthly safety checks as well as ensuring everything is in working order in the apartments and public areas,
Supervise and part in preventive and curative maintenance of the premises and equipment while promoting and contributing to setting up internal measures for the protection of the environment
Manage stocks and purchasing of equipment and supplies for the department
Ensure compliance with current safety procedures, and control the condition of the building, technical equipment and all safety and alarm systems in the property
Ensure that all potential and real hazards are reported and reduced immediately
Assist with complaints where possible and resolve them in conjunction with the Chief Engineer or General Manager
Collaborate closely with our Housekeeping team to ensure all rooms are in presentable working order at all times to ensure maximum guest occupancy and experience
As part of our Operations team, demonstrate a commitment to operating in accordance with the environmental and social sustainability criteria set by Staycity Group and external programmes such as Green Key

This is a varied, hands-on maintenance role offering the opportunity to be involved in property improvement and refurbishment projects, including painting, decorating, flooring replacement and wooden floor restoration. We are looking for someone with a practical approach, good attention to detail and a willingness to learn new skills. Training and support will be provided where required.
